DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dental Implants
Because we have our own oral surgeon on site, we are able to provide the entire dental implant procedure in our own office, from placement of the titanium implant to completing the procedure with a bright new crown or a set of permanent dentures.
When our treatment plan for a patient includes one or more dental implants, we schedule that patient with our surgeon who plans the best placement of each implant. Detailed imaging is used to ensure that the bone where the implant is placed is strong and healthy.
Surgery follows to place the implants. From there, the procedure varies depending on whether the patient has asked for replacement of a single tooth or multiple teeth, or they are receiving All-on-4s (implant-supported dentures).
For single implants, the patient waits until the titanium implant bonds fully with bone. At that point, a white porcelain crown will be prepared and attached to the implant. Our patient now has the most permanent, natural replacement for their lost tooth.
To support upper or lower dentures, four implants are carefully placed. Temporary dentures are attached to these implants so our patient can smile and eat while the implants heal. In six months or so, we securely fasten permanent dentures to the fully-healed implants.
