Dental Fillings

If you've only received white, tooth-colored dental fillings, you may not realize how much better they
are than the mixture of metals we used to use. Here are some of the benefits of these white
fillings made from composite resin, a mixture of glass or ceramic and durable plastics:

  • These fillings are, of course, tooth-colored which means they preserve each patient's white smile.
  • When the composite resin is hardened with a special light, the resin bonds tightly to tooth tissue.
  • Metal fillings didn't have this characteristic.
  • Because of this bonding characteristic, we do not need to remove as much of your tooth to prepare it for a filling as we would with metal fillings.
  • Tooth-colored fillings do not expand and contract like metal fillings did. This means that they will not cause a deterioration of the filled tooth.

We are happy to provide you with these superior fillings if we find any tooth decay.
