Snoring & Sleep Apnea

Have you been told that you snore during your sleep? Or that you choke or gasp from the effort to breathe during the night? If you're not breathing well at night, this can cause the level of oxygen in your blood to plummet while you sleep. This drop, in turn, can contribute to serious health problems.

Long-term, sleep apnea or snoring caused by sleep-disordered breathing has been shown to cause or worsen problems like these:

  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Memory problems
  • Headaches
  • Daytime sleepiness
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Weakened immune system
  • High blood sugar
  • Diabetes type 2

A sleep test can determine if you are suffering from sleep apnea. Once we have this information, we can then help you address the problem.

A simple solution is providing a patient with a custom-designed appliance worn in the mouth which holds the lower jaw forward during sleep. This helps open the airway which helps many people breathe better. Better breathing raises their oxygen levels at night and enables them to wake up refreshed in the morning.

If you snore during sleep, suffer from sleep apnea or suspect you might, please let us know so we can help.
